Emerald and Shadow - Defenders of Crawfordsville

Emerald Shadow and the Shadow Samurai


For a long time Crawfordsville Indiana, specifically Crawfordsville University, was the site of mysterious happenings. Demons, ghosts, witches, vampires, etc. all seemed to haunt the small college town, the source of their appearance unknown, at least until the day the Shadow Samurai gained her powers and began to defend the innocent students and civilians that called Crawfordsville home. With the help of her best friend John Smith and the guidance of her spirit guardian Rei, Emma Sapphire became known as the powerful Shadow Samurai, a super heroine and campus urban legend that prowled the night and took the fight to the demons that would prey on her college town. Shadow eventually uncovered the nefarious Sorority, a cover for an ancient cult supported by the Illuminati, who had taken up residence in Crawfordsville due to the odd amount of dark spirit energy in the area. Shadow's battles against the Sorority and their demented leader Valerie Marksman grew more deadly and dangerous with each passing month and the lovely heroine soon found herself pushed to her limits, at least until she met the woman who would become the love of her life, a heroine known as the Crimson Valkyrie. 


Crimson and Shadow quickly fell fast and hard for one another, with Emma quickly learning Crimson's identity as the lovely and brilliant scientist Tiffany Johnson. Tiffany soon took up a position at CU to help the school get its fledgling bio-medical department up and running and joined Shadow in her battles against the Sorority. Even with Crimson's help, Emma soon found her battles escalating, the stakes amplified as a dark demon named Kenji came for her head. There were trying times, but with the help of her friends and her mentor Rei, Emma gained new powers and strength and battled through to persevere against the darkness time and time again. Frustrated with constant setbacks at Shadow's hand, the Sorority grew more bold and summoned even more powerful foes to the campus, risking tearing open the lines between hell and Earth as they did so. More heroes rose to the call however, with John Smith secretly training Shadow Woman and Night Raven to assist Shadow in her battles if necessary. Even the Templar heroine Discordia found her way to CU, while oft-times antagonist Stephanie Winchester finally chose a side with the powerful shadow warrior and her friends. 


Emma had always drawn her amazing powers from her special Shadow Stone, which she and Rei often thought was the last of its kind. That would change however when Tiffany discovered that Valerie had recovered other stones, of varying colors and power levels. Fate would take another turn when the Sorority unleashed a powerful Shadow Beast on the campus of CU, a beast that Crimson and Shadow Samurai fought back into its realm, where they discovered a long thought lost relic, an unheard of Shadow Stone that glimmered with a strange green energy. The Emerald Shadow stones were considered at one time to be the pinnacle of power among the ancient guardians of old, their bearers able to harness both the powers of combat and defense, in addition to powerful healing magics provided by the stone's incredible energy. The Emerald Shadow stone was inhabited by a long dormant guardian, Linna, who like Rei was a powerful guardian long separated from her original partner. Linna chose Tiffany as her new bearer and the scientist accepted the powers of the stone, the Emerald Shadow stone's incredible magical energy intertwining with Tiffany's Asgardian biology to make her an even more powerful force for good. 


Tiffany soon donned her own special costume, taking the form of an emerald haired tuxedo clad maiden of the night, fighting with power and majestic grace as she brought the Emerald Shadow stone's power to bear against the evil Sorority. The campus papers dubbed the new crime fighting duo the "Shadow Sisters," their angelic heralds of the night who fought dark beings with unimaginable power, keeping the campus safe. They obviously had no idea the two were deeply in love, or the name may have been different, though Emma and Tiffany simply laugh about it when they see the headlines. There will be bigger battles to fight and unimaginable dangers to face, but with the wisdom and guidance of their guardians Linna and Rei, and with the help of their allies and friends, Emerald Shadow and the Shadow Samurai will serve as an unyielding force for good, standing against the things that go bump in the night, while looking absolutely sexy and stunning in the process.

A small teaser here, but I had already alluded to Tiffany's coming change in some ealier art I had done a year or so ago. This was a fun piece I wanted to get showing off the ladies in their costumes, and the story where Tiffany acquires her Emerald Shadow powers should be coming along sometime soon!  

As usual knocked this one out of the park and I absolutely love how both characters came out here!
